Berekum Chelsea kicked off their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season with a victorious start by defeating Bibiani Gold Stars.
The Bibires secured a 2-0 victory at the Golden City Park on Sunday afternoon, with both goals coming in the second half, courtesy of Stephen Amankona.
The game remained goalless for the first 70 minutes before the home side finally broke through. Stephen Amankona found the back of the net with 16 minutes left in the match.
Berekum Chelsea continued to push for a second goal, and they succeeded in stoppage time. Stephen Amankona, who had already scored the first goal, added another in the fifth minute of added time.
In their next fixture, the Bibires will be guests of Karela United on Saturday, September 23, 2023, for round two of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
As for Bibiani Gold Stars, they will host Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the same day.
