Coach Mohammed Gargo’s Green and Gold Shirted lads were presented with the perfect opportunity to move up to the summit of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, following a scintillating three nil outcome in one of the much awaited encounters of Match Day 4 between Nsoatreman and Karela - that saw both sides display their silky footballing prowess at the Nana Professor Koromansa II Park.
The ‘Efiri Tete Amanaso’ lads were the better of the two sides on the day, especially in the first half and managed to hold on to their lead after the Pride and Passion boys upped their game in the second half.
Nsoatreman tamed visiting Karela United by an impressive 3-0 score line, much to the delight of their fans, to move to the 4th position on the GPL table.
The men from Nsoatre signaled their intentions of carrying the day early as they broke the virginity of the game in the 7th minute through Stephen Diyou’s well timed screamer from a brilliant orchestrated move to give them a 1-0 lead before halftime.
Yakubu Mohammed doubled the lead for the ‘Efiri Tete Amanaso’ in the 33rd minute. After recess Nsoatreman fired their third through a neatly assisted pass by Yakubu Mohammed who surged upfront to hand the ball to danger-man Stephen Diyou who made no mistake from about six yards to put Nsoatreman up by 3 goals.
The victory is Nsoatreman’s second of the season under new Coach, Mohammed Gargo, and they will next test their fortunes on the road against a tough Accra Lions side in Accra. Karela is 9th on the log and will take on Karela at home next week Saturday, November 5 at Anyinase.
