Medeama coach, Ibrahim Tanko, described his team's outstanding Ghana Premier League Matchweek 22 defeat to Heart of Lions as "painful," emphasizing his disappointment and the need to learn from the experience.

The Yellow and Mauves were stunned 1-0 in the 72nd minute at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

“The game was a really hard game, and I think when you look at chances created, we had our chances in the first half to score, but we didn’t make use of them. Then we conceded a goal through a set piece. It’s really painful. In all, they won 1-0, so we take it like that,” Tanko told Medi TV after the match.

He acknowledged the missed opportunity to control the situation despite being down 1-0.

"I’m disappointed. Like I said, in the first half, we could have scored one or two, and we couldn’t make use of our chances. So, definitely I’m sad about the result."

After Wednesday's loss, Medeama are now lurking on 5th with 41 points, and nine points adrift leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
