Medeama's towering defender, Vincent Atinga has clinched the prestigious 2022/23 betPawa Premier League Player of the Season award, thanks to his outstanding performance.
This former Hearts of Oak defender found himself nominated for the award alongside his teammate Jonathan Sowah, Abednego Tetteh from Bibiani Gold Stars, Hafiz Konkoni of Bechem United (now with Yanga), Sampson Eduku, and Michel Otou.
Throughout the 2022/2023 season, Atinga was a standout player for Medeama, earning numerous Ghana Premier League Man of the Match awards. Notably, he achieved an impressive tally of 11 goals, with 9 of them coming from successful penalty conversions.
Atinga's goal-scoring prowess set a remarkable record as he became the highest-scoring defender in the 2022-2023 GPL with 11 goals to his name. Additionally, he also held the distinction of being the player with the most penalty goals in the same season, netting 9 penalties.
