Medeama SC's Administrative Manager, Joseph Tetteh Zutah, has given his word on their starman Jonathan Sowah who has in recent times, being linked to lots of top clubs on the continent.
The elite striker since joining Medeama SC in the middle of last season, has been very impressive, he made an instant impact which quickly turned him into one of the fans favourite in Tarkwa.
Sowah, played a vital role to help the Mauves and Yellows win the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their history, having scored 12 goals in 18 appearances.
In the ongoing 2023/24 season, the 24-year-old has six goals in all competitions so far; four in the league and two in the CAF Champions League.
His stellar performance has caught the good eyes of clubs like Al Ahly, Sundowns, Pyramids FC who have all, per reports exhibited strong interest in securing his service.
In an interview on Citi Sports, Medeama SC's former captain and their current Administrative Manager, Tetteh Zutah has stated Sowah is a very good player and will definitely attract clubs but they will only sanction his exit at a price that is very good.
"Sowah is a good player, before a player who has a contract will move on it means there must be an agreement from both parties so if the club agrees to release Sowah, it means the club has also agreed and received something that we think we can sell the player."
"So what we have to do is to just a find a replacement, it’s not as if Sowah will be here forever, definitely there will be a time he has to move on, it could be soon or later, fair enough, but it is up to us to also make sure we get an able replacement."
“We are open to anything, if a deal comes, why not and both parties agree, he can move on.”
Jonathan Sowah has made two appearances for the Black Stars so far, with his debut coming in a 3-1 win over Liberia in a friendly- a game he assisted Jordan Ayew. Also, he made a cameo appearance recently against Comoros in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
