Former skipper of Asante Kotoko, Amos Frimpong has revealed that he received a bumper salary while playing in Guinea than what he had been given at the fold of the Porcupine Warriors.

Even though several club's in Ghana are taking part in the top-flight league, many of them are not financially strong enough to pay good wages.

For example, some clubs cannot afford to own a stadium or a good team bus, and to make matters worse, they are unable to pay good monthly wages to their players.

Other clubs can afford to pay monthly salaries and bonuses, but they sometimes struggle to do so, a huge contrast to what happens in other African Countries, and that is the reason which has ignited a mass exodus, prompting many of the players to move out in search of greener pastures.

Amos Frimpong, in an interview with Asempa FM made some vital comparisons to his wages at Asante Kotoko and what he was offered in Guinea.

"When you compare the contract I served at Asante Kotoko and the one I worked for in Guinea, the salary in Guinea was higher than at Asante Kotoko.

Justifying why he left Asante Kotoko, Frimpong said: "I had played at Asante Kotoko for so many years, so I wanted to change the environment a bit."
