A firm bankrolled by Ghanaian political tycoon Haruna Iddrisu has bought Premier League football club Karela United in a deal reportedly worth millions of cedis.
The new owners and partners of the late David Cobbina Brigidi, a former Senator for the Bayelsa Central constituency of Bayelsa State, Nigeria, had completed all documentation of an 100 per cent stake takeover of the flat-broke topflight side
Brigidi had owned a majority stake in the club since 2013.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed by either Karela United or members of the camp of political whizkid Haruna Iddrisu, but Kickgh.com has been reliably informed that the deal is worth a myriad of Ghana cedis.
In recent times Karela United had been looking for new owners after the death of their bankroller Lawyer Senator David Cobbina Brigidi, but now, the Nzema-Aiyinasi-based club have found the perfect mogul for the club.
Kickgh.com can confirm that the new owners will move the club to the Northern region of Ghana as they work things out to change the club's name.
