Solomon Adjei has expressed his happiness after scoring his first Samartex goal in the 1-1 Ghana Premier League draw stalemate with Nations FC.
The attacking midfielder who joined the Timber Giants from Okwawu United opened the scoring after 28 minutes, finishing off expertly.
However, the visitors chopped off the goal with an equaliser through Emmanuel Annor with just over two minutes left to play in the first half.
Adjei, fondly called "Mputu Ball Wura" now has one goal in 15 top-flight appearances this season and the attacking midfielder was delighted after getting off the mark in a Samartex shirt.
“Scoring my 1st goal of the season vs Nations FC was a good moment.
Adjei also thanked their fans and spoke about the team’s grit, determination and desire to fight for the three points, but things didn't go as planned at the Nsenkyire Stadium.
"But not the perfect ending because we wanted a win."
"What an amazing year with great support from my teammates, FC Samartex 1996 supporters, the coaching staff, and family. Thank you for your support and see you in 2025."
Samartex will be bidding to rebound in the Premier League when they head to Aduana Stars on Sunday, before facing Hearts of Oak in matchday 17 on December 17. The Timber Giants have gone 5 games without a win - as they have lost four straight matches and drawn one.
