Heart of Lions head coach, Bashir Hayford was ecstatic with his team's fighting spirit as they clawed back from a goal down to get a 1-1 draw at home against Asante Kotoko in an action-packed Matchweek 26 fixture of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Hayford was thrilled on the sidelines when defender Fawzi Ali scored the equalising goal in the 47th minute to rescue his side.

“Kotoko fought very hard. We made all efforts to beat them but it didn’t happen. We had to fight from behind to draw with Kotoko. It was a tough match. The boys fought hard but the goals didn’t come and we splitted points," the experienced coach said after the match.

“The problem is finishing. In Ghana, we have strikers but we don’t have finishers. They always run and mess up in the final third. I always work on my strikers just to improve on scoring."

After Sunday's draw, Heart of Lions are now bossing the third place in the league table. The 'Dzie Woa Nu' outfit will next come up against Berekum Chelsea in an entrailing encounter.
