Falling into the seventh position in the league title race after being defeated in Matchweek 26 clash by Hearts of Oak on Sunday was something to worry about, insisted Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko.

The match at the Accra Sports Stadium presented Medeama with an opportunity to join the top-four side's of the Ghana Premier League if they had won.

But their 1-0 loss means they are eight adrift of leaders Asante Kotoko, with both teams having played 26 games.

“I think it is a very painful defeat, looking at how the game went,” he told reporters after the game.

"We conceded a goal that we normally don't concede. After the goal, we came back very strongly, we had all the chances.

"I think that is the only chance they had in the first half, is not even a chance.

Ibrahim Tanko felt it was an encounter his side should have won.

"A long shot and they score, but in terms of performance, I think they did very well, and definitely we are not happy about the results."
