Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has revealed that his exuberant celebrations following the dramatic 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak were premeditated.

The Porcupine Warriors secured a hard-fought victory in their Matchday 13 clash against their arch-rivals at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, thanks to a last-minute goal from Albert Amoah.

After Amoah's 95th-minute strike sealed the win, Dr. Ogum was seen removing his tie and waving it in front of the jubilant Kotoko supporters.

In a post-match interview, Dr. Ogum explained that the intensity of the game and the emotions surrounding it played a significant role in his celebration.

“The manner in which the goal came… I mean, look at the game we played, look at the chances we created,” he said.

“Considering how the game was unfolding, I felt it hadn’t been fair to us, and I was telling myself, if we score, this will be the moment.”

Dr. Ogum went on to reveal that the celebration was not spontaneous but something he had planned ahead of time.

“The celebration was pre-determined. I had planned it in my mind at home that if we score, I would remove my tie and go and thank the fans,” he added.

The victory has lifted Asante Kotoko to 6th place on the league table with 21 points. They will next face Dreams FC in their Matchday 14 fixture at the Tuba AstroTurf.
