After watching his side narrow the gap on the leading teams in the Ghana Premier League standings, Nations FC coach Kasim Mingle said he is relieved to get back to winning ways on Sunday.

The Abrankese side suffered three successive defeats, before returning to Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, where they edged Medeama 2-1 to record a victory.

“The feeling is good. It was a very huge task playing Medeama after losing three consecutive matches but God being so good, we’ve sailed through. We are really happy we got the three maximum points,” Mingle said after the game.

Nations FC captain Razak Simpson scored the opener in the 33rd minute, however, Medeama's Mubarik Yussif fired the equaliser 26 minutes later with a penalty.

Blazing Faisal Charwetey scored his 10th Premier League goal to plot Nations FC to a nervy victory.

After Sunday's win, Nations are fifth with 35 points - just three points behind leaders Asante Kotoko, while Medeama are seventh on 32 points,
