The ruling NDC party's manifesto scribe has revealed that the Ghanaian top-flight players would be entitled to some monetary gains over the government investment in the sporting discipline
Incumbent President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama would be paying commissions to Ghana Premier League players, according to National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto spokesperson Dr. Fred Awaah.
With the current poor salary structure of the playing body in the country's top division contest, the John Mahama-led administration is now certain of offering an everlasting solution to this predicament given the pronouncement made by his protege.
''We (National Democratic Congress) are committed as a government to paying commissions to Ghana Premier League players. This is not free money. It's an investment that we expect to trickle down to others,'' the UPSA lecturer at the Department of Business Administration told Sporty FM.
Dr. Fred Awaah's assertion stems from the campaign promise made by the now-elected president to initiate a policy in elevating the sporting discipline across the nation before the December 7, 2024 general elections.
