Asante Kotoko’s newest signing, Kwasi Asante, has pledged to give his all to help the club achieve its goals following his official unveiling.

The experienced 29-year-old defender completed his transfer to the Porcupine Warriors on Wednesday, January 22, after successfully passing his mandatory medical examination.

In his first interview, Asante expressed his excitement about joining the club, describing the move as a dream come true and a return to familiar grounds.

“Joining Kotoko feels like a homecoming for me. This is a club I’ve admired for years because of its history and passion. When the opportunity came, I didn’t have to think twice because I want to be part of something special here,” Asante stated.

Acknowledging the high expectations that come with wearing the iconic red jersey, the former Simba FC and Mbabane Swallows player reassured fans of his commitment to the club’s success.

“I know the fans have high expectations, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got to meet them. Competition for places is part of football, and I welcome it because it makes us all better. I’m here to work hard, contribute to the team, and help Kotoko achieve its goals this season,” he added.

Asante brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for Hafia Club in Guinea, Simba FC in Tanzania, and Mbabane Swallows in Eswatini.

His signing strengthens Kotoko’s defensive options as they aim to reclaim the Ghana Premier League title in the 2024/25 season.
