Midfielder Justice Blay is set to extend his stay with Asante Kotoko after reaching an agreement for a two-year contract extension. This comes after the player initially rejected the club’s initial offer.
According to reports from Ghanasportspage.com, the new deal will extend Blay's current contract, which expires in January 2025, through to 2027. The formal signing of the agreement is expected to take place in the coming days.
Blay has been a vital cog in Kotoko’s midfield this season, featuring in nine of the club’s 12 Ghana Premier League matches. His impressive performances have earned him four MVP awards, underscoring his influence on the team.
A former Medeama SC player, Blay’s combative style and leadership qualities have endeared him to fans, who view him as a potential club legend.
By securing Blay for an additional two years, Kotoko not only retain a key player but also strengthen their dressing room with his experience and leadership.
Currently, the Porcupine Warriors sit seventh on the Ghana Premier League table, amassing 18 points from 12 games as they aim to climb higher in the standings.
