Former Hearts of Oak shot-stopper Richard Attah has called on current Phobians goalkeeper Benjamin Asare to uphold the legacy of clean sheets in Premier League matches against fierce rivals Asante Kotoko.

Speaking ahead of the much-anticipated Super Clash on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium, Attah expressed confidence in Hearts of Oak’s ability to break their three-game losing streak against Kotoko.

“Hearts of Oak will beat Asante Kotoko; I foresee a 2-1 victory for Hearts of Oak on Sunday,” Attah stated in an interview with MOTV.

Attah, who guarded the posts for Hearts of Oak from 2021 to 2022, set an impressive record of three consecutive clean sheets in matches against Kotoko. His performances in those games cemented his reputation as a reliable presence in goal during high-pressure fixtures.

“I want Benjamin Asare to continue my record of keeping clean sheets in all Premier League games against Asante Kotoko, starting this Sunday,” Attah added.

The stakes are high for both teams as they look to improve their positions on the Ghana Premier League table. Hearts of Oak are currently sixth with 19 points from 12 games, while Kotoko sit just one point behind in seventh place.

Sunday’s encounter is expected to draw massive attention as two of Ghana’s most storied clubs renew their rivalry. Hearts of Oak will be counting on their goalkeeper and squad to rise to the occasion, while Kotoko aims to maintain their recent dominance in this historic rivalry.
