Newly promoted South African Premier Division side Durban City have tabled a two-year contract offer to Ghanaian goalkeeper Fredrick Asare.
The 26-year-old is currently a free agent after parting ways with Asante Kotoko at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Kickgh.com understands that talks are at an advanced stage, with Asare expected to make a decision in the coming days, as his agent is reviewing the contract.
The Ghanaian keeper made a strong impression on Durban City’s technical team during a short trial period.
Asare, who has previously featured for Ghana’s home-based national team and earned a call up to the senior national team the Black Stars, is regarded as one of the more promising domestic goalkeepers in Ghana. A potential move to the Citizen's would mark his first stint abroad and could offer a fresh start following a mixed spell in the Ghana Premier League.
Durban City, who secured promotion to South Africa’s top flight earlier this year, are looking to strengthen their squad as they prepare for their debut campaign in the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season
