Bibiani Gold Stars Chief Executive Officer Akwasi Adu has revealed that none of the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs has received the promised GH₵1 million financial support, six matches into the 2026/27 season.

The funding was announced at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence before the start of the campaign, with all top-flight clubs expected to benefit.

Adu says the payment is still outstanding, but he is confident the GFA leadership will fulfil its commitment to the clubs.

"No Premier League club has received the promised GHC1m, but I know the Ghana Football Association leadership, together with the clubs, will be meeting soon to discuss when the money will be paid to the clubs," he said.

Despite the delay, the GoldStars chief executive stressed that clubs must take responsibility for their finances rather than depend entirely on the association to fund their seasons.

"It's an association, and we, the clubs, have decided to join, so we must have money for our season and not wait on the GFA for money, but we are confident the money will be paid," he added.

Bibiani GoldStars are currently sitting in 14th position with 7 points after six games and will travel to Debibi United next.
