The 24-year-old goal poacher has moved to pour cold water on the reportage that claimed player revolts led to the departure of the outspoken manager at the Kumasi-based club

Asante Kotoko marksman Albert Amoah has said no team-mate of his wanted outgone manager Karim Zito out of the club before he mutually parted ways with them this season.

Speculation in the local media claimed that the playing body wanted the tough-talking tactician out of his dugout role at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium owing to his player-management style. However, that said speculation has now been vehemently rejected by the on-loan Al Ahly Benghazi frontman and has urged their fans to disregard it as it is wide of the mark.

Speaking in an interview, the Porcupine Warriors hitman has told Kumasi-based Kessben FM: ''No player wanted Karim Zito out before he resigned. Such speculations should be disregarded. We were actually looking forward to using Sunday’s game against Hearts of Oak to make things right but what happened happened.''

Amoah has so far raked in 3 goals in 5 league appearances for Asante Kotoko in this ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.

With the Ghana version of El Clasico taking place this coming Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Amoah will be looking forward to helping his side win the contest against their bitter adversaries Hearts of Oak in the Ghanaian top-flight.
