Nurudeen Amadu- Samartex FC gaffer says they are ever ready to replicate the performances of both Dreams FC and Medeama SC in their African campaign after winning the league but will have to improve their squad first
He made these comments after the Timber Giants were officially crowned champions of the Ghana Premier League with a precious 1-0 win over Bibiani Goldstars in Samreboi over the weekend.
The Green and Blacks have astonishingly won the championship in their second campaign in the topflight and achieved that with matches to spare and will get to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season.
The ex- Aduana Stars and King Faisal coach feels they have the ability to excel in Africa but will have to patch up few cracks around the squad and strengthen some one or two departments heading into next season to make much stronger and better for the campaign
"While we are still celebrating, management will meet later to talk- about strengthening the team with more seasoned players traveling to Africa, as the majority of our players are from lower divisions.
"We'll attempt to emulate Medeama and Dreams FC in Africa and see if we can accomplish their feats. If we don't succeed, that's okay, but I believe their actions should serve as inspiration for us to compete in Africa."
Samartex FC will travel to the Naa Sheriga Sports Center to lock horns with Karela United in the next round of matches.
