Samartex FC are officially champions of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League and head coach Nurudeen Amadu has expressed so much elation and added that it's a dream come true for him and the players.

The Timber Giants were crowned champions last Sunday after a narrow 1-0 win over Bibiani Goldstars at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex in match-week 32.

It had to be made official on the back of defeats on the road for the other top four clubs; Aduana Stars, Medeama SC and Nations FC.

Speaking after the game, the experienced tactician revealed their target before the start of the season wasn't to win the league but they defied all odds throughout the season to make it happen

"Not many people at Samartex including the fans knew who I was.

"Winning the league is a huge accomplishment because the goal was to finish higher than last season, not to win the league.

"For me, it's a dream come true. A big thanks to Prof Mintah who recommended me to Samartex.

"Many thanks also to Edmund Ackah, who believed in me a lot."

Samartex FC are on top of the table with 58 points and will play as guests to Karela United at the Naa Sheriga Sports Center in the next round of matches.
