Basake Holy Stars have received a cash reward of GH₵3,000 from the Municipal Chief Executive of Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira, Hon. Herbert Kua Dickson, following their memorable 2–1 home victory over Asante Kotoko on Wednesday.
The Big Holy cut short Kotoko’s unbeaten Ghana Premier League run with a 2–1 win at the AAK II Arena in the outstanding Matchday 3 encounter.
Speaking to West End Radio, Hon. Kua Dickson expressed his pride in supporting Basake Holy Stars on Nzema soil.
“I’m personally a fan of football and it’s important for us to back our own. That’s why we are here, and I’m very proud we managed to beat Kotoko.”
Hon. Herbert Kua Dickson added further insight into the support.
“I gave the players GH₵3,000 after the game, and we also supported them beforehand by covering match tickets for fans. In total, we supported with GH₵5,000, and moving forward, we will do even more,” he told West End Radio’s Ebenezer Adiebah.
