It's now official that, Asante Kotoko and coach Abdulai Gazale have parted ways by mutual consent following a social media post made by the latter on Monday morning.

The news popped up initially in the local media stating Prosper Narteh Ogum in his return to Kumasi has ordered for the jettisoning of the young coach, whom he can't work with this time despite being part of his technical team in his first tenure.

The enterprising gaffer joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2019 to serve as the assistant coach to Maxwell Konadu but he was left on his own at the club following very early following the exit of his boss and was subsequently tasked to handle the club's youth side.

He's done that for the past years and occasionally joined the first team especially last season where he served as the club's stop-gasp coach in the middle of the campaign after the sacking of Burkinabe gaffer Seydou Zerbo.

In an open statement, Gazale expressed a profound gratitude to the owner of Kotoko, His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the management, players, the teaming fans and all for their trust and support, having described his stay at Kotoko as a rewarding experience. He posted on Facebook;

"I thank the Life Patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko (His Royal Majesty Otumfou Osei Tutu II). My stay in Kotoko has been a rewarding experience working with different people in different capacities with players, Technical staffs and people around the club”

“I am much grateful to be part of the four years journey. This is the time to reflect and also to be fulfilling my ambition to challenge myself with the experienced gathered so far.

“I would like to express my profound appreciation for the privilege to contribute my quota to the betterment of football in the club and the national league as a whole.

“I thank the management I have worked with. I thank the past board of directors. I thank the Porcupine family as whole. I thank everyone for their support," he landed
