Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have announced the capture of highly-rated attacker Johnson Owusu Oppong ahead of the upcoming football season, as already reported by your trusted sports-hub Kickgh.com
The 27-year-old is joining on a two-year deal after a fruitful negotiations between both parties and went through all mandatory medical examination at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital last Saturday before he was unveiled
He is reported to be coach Karim Zito’s recommendation as he is expected to come in with the wealth of experience he’s had in the last few years to help Asante Kotoko in the upcoming 2025/26 season especially in their Africa campaign
He is returning to the Ghanaian topflight after a short spell recently in Tajikistan with Regar-TadAZ
The versatile attacker knows and understand the Ghanaian terrain very well having previously played for clubs like Inter Allies and Dreams FC - and was an integral member of their semi-final run in the 2023/24 CAF Confederations Cup
Johnson Owusu Oppong has also had European spells at Czech professional club FC Trinity Zlin and Albanian side FK Kukesi. Also, he played for Maritimo, Camacha and SC Braga U19, all in Portugal
