Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have officially appointed club legend Malik Jabir as their new Technical Director as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the club's management and technical operations.
The Porcupine Warriors recently implemented changes to their Interim Management Committee (IMC), including head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum stepping down from his IMC duties to focus entirely on coaching.
This decision, endorsed by the club's Life Patron, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Manhyia Palace, is aimed at ensuring the team achieves its sporting objectives.
As part of this restructuring, Malik Jabir has been brought on board to provide technical expertise and support to Dr. Ogum. Former Technical Director Coach James Kwesi Appiah will, however, remain a part of the club's management team, contributing to the leadership's broader goals.
The changes come in response to Kotoko’s inconsistent performances this season, which included a five-game winless streak in the Ghana Premier League. However, the team recently showed signs of improvement, securing a 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park over the weekend.
Currently sitting 7th in the league standings with 18 points from 12 matches, Asante Kotoko hopes to regain their competitive edge and climb higher under this refreshed technical leadership.
