Asante Kotoko captain Justice Blay has signed a new contract extension with the club after rumours of him turning down series of attempts made by the club to maintain him beyond what was left in his previous contract.
The combative midfielder signed a one and half year deal which will now see how play in Kumasi until 2026, the club has announced.
Blay, joined the Porcupine on an initial season long loan during the 2019/20 season from Medeama SC, making an instant impact by scoring 2 goals in 12 appearances.
His impressive performances earned him a permanent move to the club in the 2021/22 campaign and since then, he's become a mainstay in the team with over 50 league appearances under his belt.
Known for his passion, leadership and commanding presence in midfield, Justice Blay has earned the love and respect of both fans and teammates and is looking forward to continue working hard to help the club achieve more success.
Justice Blay has started 12 league matches this season and has one goal which came from the spot-kick against Bibiani Goldstars in the last round of matches.
Asante Kotoko after four consecutive wins have now jumped to the second position on the league log with 27 points, three behind leaders Heart of Lions.
