Managing Director of Hearts of Oak, Delali Anku-Adiamah, has urged the Black Stars technical team to keep a close eye on defender Kelvin Osei Asibey following his impressive performances this season.

The 23-year-old has been a key figure for Hearts of Oak, making 12 appearances in 13 matches in the ongoing campaign.

Asibey was in action during Hearts’ narrow defeat to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, where an unfortunate error led to the Phobians’ loss in stoppage time. Despite the mistake, Anku-Adiamah believes Asibey deserves recognition for his overall performances.

“Black Stars should look at Asibey because he is an amazing player. Mistakes can happen, so let’s not judge a player by just one mistake,” Anku-Adiamah said after the game.

The MD also defended Asibey, pointing out that the error came after a sequence of events up the field, and praised the defender’s overall performance.

“You can’t just look at the mistake. It came way up the field before it got to the defense. Let’s look at the whole situation and what happened from the middle to the back. Kelvin was one of the best players, if not the man of the match. Some of the tackles and clearances he made were amazing,” he added.

Anku-Adiamah's comments highlight the strong belief in Asibey's abilities, despite the unfortunate outcome of the match.
