Manhyia Palace has announced the formation of a new Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, a move aimed at reinforcing the administrative and strategic leadership of the Ghana Premier League powerhouse.
In an official press statement dated February 27, 2026, the Office of the Asantehene confirmed that His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has constituted a new governing board to oversee the club’s operations and long-term direction.
The board will be led by James Osei Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Josbob Construction, who assumes the role of Chairman. Kwasi Osei Ofori, CEO of Rocksure, has been appointed Vice-Chairman, while Kofi Amoa-Abban, Founder and CEO of Rigworld Group, also joins as a board member.
Per the statement, the newly constituted board will immediately take up its statutory oversight responsibilities. However, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) will remain in charge of the club’s day-to-day administration until the conclusion of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace, Kofi Badu, chaired a meeting to formally introduce the board to the interim management team and called for cooperation to ensure a smooth transition.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman James Osei Brown expressed the board’s determination to restore Asante Kotoko to its expected stature and urged management to intensify efforts during the remaining fixtures of the season.
IMC Chairman Nana Akwasi Awuah Apinkrah welcomed the new board and assured them of the committee’s full support throughout the transition period.
