Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is set to appoint Kontomponiaferihene Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua I as the new Executive Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko, pending any last-minute changes.
The Asantehene has been highly impressed with Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua's performance.
Asante Kotoko will establish a new board and management team for the upcoming season. The team has been managed by an Interim Management Committee (IMC) headed by Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, with technical director Kwesi Appiah, head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Emmanuel Dasoberi, who recently left his role to join CAF.
Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua is expected to be named Board Chairman by the club's life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in the coming days.
Sources indicate that he will be supported on the board by Tema-based businessman Alhaji Abu Lamin, who has been involved with Asante Kotoko for over 20 years, and Lawyer Kwamina Mensah, who served as board secretary under the previous Dr. Kwame Kyei-led board.
They will be joined by other prominent individuals to form the new management team.
