Assistant coach of Bechem United, Seth Osei Wire has brushed aside claims that the recent cessation of the Ghana Premier League contributed to his side's loss to Medeama.
The league was suspended for five weeks due to the gruesome murder of a football fan during a league match.
However, Osei Wire maintains the suspension of the top-flight did not play a part in their overall output in the crunch encounter on Sunday.
"One match, three goals, it has been a long time since we conceded like that. The little suspension, I will not say it affected us. The players did well, but it is not enough for us," he said.
"Football is evolving, and as humans, while you are playing, you don’t expect me to perform the way we were three, four years ago. But we have done well today, looking at the first goal, how it happened, but our best today is not enough for us."
Bechem United will intend to rebound when they battle Vision FC in Matchday 24 fixture on Sunday, March 16 at the Nana Gyeabour Park.
