Asante Kotoko's Ugandan striker, Steven Dese Mukwala has attributed the club's recent resurgence in performance to the words of the King Otumfour Osei Tutu II- whom they met weeks ago.

The Porcupine Warriors had a very poor start to the second phase of the ongoing season having gone seven matches without a win including six loses within the process.

The string of poor results sparked a huge fury among the teeming fans who started calling for the dissolution of their technical team but after an emergency meeting with the club's owner and King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the club seem to have found their rhythm once again.

The Reds are currently unbeaten in their last three matches with two wins, and have climbed up to the tenth position with 40 points.

Speaking in an interview with the club's official YouTube channel, the elite forward stated emphatically clear that the words of encouragement they got from the King helped them turn things the right way and that has been their recent secret.

"The motivation and words of wisdom from the King have motivated us a lot," he told the club's YouTube channel

"It was a way of reminding everyone how big Asante Kotoko is. That’s the motivation we have right now," he added.

Asante Kotoko will travel to Berekum Chelsea in the next round of matches on Friday, May 17, at the Golden City Park.
