Karela United head coach Nurudeen Amadu believes his team deserved at least a point despite their narrow 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.

Karela conceded early at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after Isaac Agyemang found the back of the net, and they were unable to recover despite creating several opportunities.

Speaking after the match, Amadu praised his players’ performance but admitted their failure to convert chances proved costly.

“We played well, but we conceded an early goal. Even with that, we came back stronger. It is just that we wasted so many chances.”

The Karela boss said his team improved significantly after the break and felt they deserved more from the encounter.

“In the second half we were strong. Our worst result should have been a draw, but this is football. Sometimes you don’t get what you want.”

Amadu, however, encouraged his players to remain focused and continue working hard despite the setback.

“I will still commend my boys and encourage them to keep working hard.”

The defeat leaves Karela United in ninth position on the Ghana Premier League table, while Asante Kotoko move up to third place following the victory.
