Hearts of Oak's Communications Director, Opare Addo insists that doing preseason out of the country doesn't mean a club will win a league title.

Hearts of Oak finished sixth last season but won the MTN FA Cup after defeating Bechem United in the final last month.

Hearts of Oak started their preseason on Tuesday, as they prepare towards their CAF Confederations cup and league campaign next season.

The Phobians' arch-rivals, Asante Kotoko will be touring Turkey as part of their preseason ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Hearts of Oak have come under a social media backlash to have their preseason away from Ghana, after Asante Kotoko will have their second consecutive preseason away from the country.

Opare Addo says having your preseason away from the country doesn't guarantee success in the upcoming season.

“Hearts of Oak will decide where to have pre-season. We don’t look at an opponent to do what we do," he said on Asempa FM.

"Two seasons ago we had preseason in Ghana but won the league so soon we will make a decision whether to move out or not.

“Manchester United move out of England for pre-season but they haven’t won anything in a while. All that matters is finding a serene environment. Going out of the country isn’t a guarantee that you’ll win the league," he added.
