Medeama SC midfielder Prosper Boakye Owusu has poured praise on head coach Ibrahim Tanko, declaring him the game-changer behind the club’s revival and renewed sense of belief.
In a chat with Medeamaa FM, Owusu didn’t hold back in crediting the former Accra Lions gaffer for bringing structure, motivation, and winning mentality back to the Tarkwa-based side.
“He selects players based on performance. You won’t get the nod to play if you are unable to impress at training. He introduced many things and changed the dynamics of the team. He made us believe in ourselves as a team.”
Since taking the reins, Ibrahim Tanko has guided Medeama through a period of transition, steadying a shaky campaign and laying the groundwork for a strong 2025/26 season. Owusu says the squad now trains with renewed energy and purpose.
“Under Tanko, there is no player who is guaranteed a starting role. You only play when you perform at training. You could see a lot of urgency at training because of what he brought on board,” Owusu noted.
The young midfielder, aged 22, played in 21 league games, managing only one assist during the recently concluded Ghana Premier League campaign.
