Asante Kotoko legend, Osei Kwame Jnr has urged the leaders of his former club to psych the players very well in order to avoid an embarrassing defeat ahead of the Super-Clash this weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors looked like commencing the 2022/23 football season on a higher note after exhibiting a stellar display to beat RC Kadiogo 1-0 in the first leg in Cotonou.

Astonishingly, the Burkinabe champions responded with the same scoreline in the return encounter in Kumasi over the weekend to stretch the game to penalty shootouts of which they eventually emerged victors to knockout the two time African conquerors.

Coach Seydou Zerbo and his men after the painful exit are currently preparing against Nsoatreman FC and arch rivals Hearts of Oak this Sunday.

Speaking in an interview, Osei Kwame Jnr- who played Kotoko for 12 good years and won series of laurels, has advised to get the players well-psyched to get ready for the Super-Clash since only a win in that can raise the hopes of the supporters. He said;

"Call the players and psyche them before the Sunday game before a defeat won't be good to the club. If Hearts of Oak wins, it will be disaster but if they win, the fans anger will calm down and forget about everything."

Asante Kotoko will battle it out with newly-promoted Nsoatreman FC in their opening GPL fixture this Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
