Rwandan Premier League giants Rayon Sports FC have officially expressed interest in signing Stephen Amankona from Berekum Chelsea.
Amankona, one of the standout forwards in the recently concluded 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, having retained the Golden Boot as the top scorer with 15 goals.
He has attracted regional attention following a strong season with the Bibires. Kickgh.com understands that Rayon Sports reached out to begin talks over a possible deal for the 25-year-old attacker.
Berekum Chelsea have placed a $100,000 price tag on the player, and have communicated that figure to the Rwandan club. However, Rayon Sports are yet to formally respond to the terms.
Amankona, known for his sharp movement and finishing, has been instrumental for Berekum Chelsea leading the line with consistency as a prolific goal sniffer in the last two seasons.
The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward rejoined Chelsea in 2023 and quickly re-established himself as a key figure. Berekum Chelsea are understood to be open to a deal, but only if their demands are met.
However, as of Wednesday, there has been no official reply from the Rwandan outfit regarding Berekum Chelsea’s asking price.
