Hearts of Oak are facing the imminent departure of central defender Konadu Yiadom, with talks over a contract extension reportedly stalling, paving the way for the player to leave on a free transfer.
Yiadom’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the month, and despite efforts from the club to retain him, negotiations have made little progress.
Kickgh.com sources close to the situation say the player is now unlikely to renew his contract with the Accra-based giants.
The 25-year-old centre-back, who joined Hearts of Oak from WAFA SC, has been a key cog over the past two seasons and remains highly rated for his aerial strength and reading of the game.
He is now attracting attention from abroad, with reports suggesting a Romanian club has expressed concrete interest in signing him on a free transfer. While the club has not been officially named, negotiations are believed to be advancing behind the scenes.
Yiadom’s potential exit presents a defensive headache for Hearts of Oak, who are already undergoing a squad rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. The club may now be forced to seek reinforcements in central defence during the current transfer window.
