Ghanaian giants Heart of Oak have appointed highly-rated gaffer Aboubakar Ouattara as new head coach heading into second round, per exclusive reports in the local media.

There hasn't been any official confirmation from the club despite this news being widely reported in the local media.

The 'Phobians' started the season with Martin Koopman but sacked him after just three months in charge in what is mainly described as poor performance.

In his absence, assistant coach Rahim Bashiru took over and spearheaded affairs till the end of the first phase of the 2023/24 football season.

The Rainbow Club have already resumed training hoping to get themselves adequately prepared for the second round and are currently training under the supervision of coach Tijani who led them to a pulsating draw against Swedru All Blacks last week.

Speculations has it that, Aboubakar Ouattara arrived in the country last Wednesday and has already finalized everything with the capital giants with official announcement and unveiling very imminent.

Ouattara has so much experience in the game having previously worked with African giants like AS Vita Club, T.P Mazembe, Wydad Athletic Club and others.

Hearts of Oak have lined up two friendlies against Eleven Wonders on Sunday, February 11, in Techiman, and will proceed to Kumasi the following day to take on Cornerstones FC.
