The Ghana Football Association's Disciplinary Committee has taken action against Asante Kotoko forward, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, for alleged double registration.
Sarfo Taylor has remained sidelined for the Porcupines since the beginning of the current season due to disputes over terminating his contract, which the player has contested.
The issue arose after Kotoko filed a protest against Sarfo Taylor over inconsistencies in his name.
It's understood that Kotoko raised concerns regarding the player's certification for a name change, suspecting that Sarfo Taylor may not possess the required documentation.
Reports suggest that Sarfo Taylor, formerly known as Charles Oppong during his time at B.A United, underwent a name change that was recognized in football circles.
However, the GFA has charged Sarfo Taylor for allegedly falsifying his registration details.
"Sarfo Taylor has been charged with a breach of section 21(1) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 following a report made to the GFA by Asante Kotoko," the statement read.
"It is alleged that he intentionally falsified his registration details."
"Sarfo Taylor has until Monday, 12 February 2024, to respond to the charges," the statement concluded.
