Asante Kotoko have declared defender Abdul Ganiyu Ismail surplus to requirement despite his plea and rescinding his decision to continue with the club.
The club's former captain was reported to have asked for the termination of his contract with immediate effect couple of days ago.
This was mainly because he had seek to for a new challenge elsewhere which will fetch him more salary as compared to what he is earning now with the giants, per speculations.
His actions ended up getting him into a huge trouble after missing out on the club's preseason tour to Sudan after he had taken part in their ten-day stay in the capital for the first phase.
However, according to Pure FM in Kumasi, Kotoko have emphatically made it known to the ex- Karela United star that, his service won't be required in the team anymore and are ready to accept any offer for his service.
The 26 year old has already lost the captaincy to Richard Boadu in an official club announcement which was made last Tuesday before their friendly against Sudanese champions Al Hilal Omdurman- a game they lost by 2-0.
Yussif Mubarik, Danlad Ibrahim, Christopher Nettey and their newly-signed Cameroonian goalie Moise Pouaty D'assise will also serve as his deputies heading into the 2022/23 season.
