Asante Kotoko defensive stalwart Samba O’neil and first-choice goalkeeper Mohammed Camara have yet to attract any official transfer offers, according to their representative, Isaac Saha.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Saha, who represents both players through Prosport International, confirmed that there are currently no formal bids on the table for either Samba or Camara.
Despite the transfer inactivity, Samba has requested a six-month contract extension with the Porcupine Warriors. The 25-year-old Congolese centre-back is determined to ensure that Kotoko benefits financially from any future move rather than losing him for free.
“As things stand, there are no bids on the table for either Samba or Mohammed Camara. However, Samba has personally requested a six-month contract extension to allow Asante Kotoko to benefit from any potential transfer,” Saha said.
“He has made it clear that he is not willing to leave the club for free, citing his love for Kotoko and appreciation for what the club has done for him.”
Mohammed Camara, Kotoko’s reliable goalkeeper, is also under observation, but like Samba, he has yet to receive any concrete offers from other clubs.
Samba’s contract extension request highlights a player mindful of the club’s interests while also safeguarding his future career options. The situation places the Porcupine Warriors in a strategic position as they look to protect their key assets during the current transfer window.
This season, Samba has made 15 appearances in the Ghana Premier League, scoring two goals. In the CAF Confederation Cup, he featured in four matches, netting once before Kotoko bowed out in the second preliminary round.
Since joining Kotoko, Samba has made a total of 49 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing one assist, establishing himself as a consistent and influential figure in the squad.
