Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has insisted he will not give up on winning the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title, despite his side dropping vital points in their latest outing.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a frustrating draw by Berekum Chelsea in their Matchday 18 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, a result that saw them miss the chance to close the gap at the top of the table.
Kotoko currently sit fourth in the standings with 31 points, six points adrift of league leaders Medeama SC as the title race remains tightly contested.
Speaking after the match, Zito admitted his disappointment with the result but maintained that his team remains firmly in the hunt for the championship despite their inconsistent form.
“With all seriousness and honesty, I don’t accept this result, but it won’t stop me from fighting for the league title,” Zito said.
He added: “We still have 16 matches to play. We need to go back to work and make sure we win our away games to make amends.”
Zito will now turn his attention to Kotoko’s next challenge as the Reds travel to face defending champions Bibiani GoldStars, with the coach hoping to guide his side back to winning ways and keep their title ambitions alive.
