The Yellow and Mauves lads have bolstered their defence for the upcoming season with the acquisition of the former Accra Lions centre-back.
Ghana Premier League outfit Medeama SC have announced the signing of Richard Sackey until mid-2028 after leaving Aduana FC in the ongoing transfer window.
The 23-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Tarkwa-based club after declining an offer to extend his stay at Aduana after the end of the 2024–25 season's campaign.
Medeama SC confirmed the capture of the workaholic defender via a statement that reads: “Center-Back, Richard Sackey, signs for the next 3 years”.
Sackey arrived at Aduana FC prior to the commencement of the 2023–24 season after ending his contract with Accra Lions, having played an instrumental role in Accra Lions’ debut league season, contributing significantly to their successful relegation survival campaign.
Medeama SC have been active in the transfer market as they look to secure the signatures of high-quality players to ensure their title winning ambition.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko's side has already signed Baba Fusseini, Richard Owusu, Fuzy Taylor, and Henry Nyarko.
Sackey has already joined his new teammates for pre-season in Ivory Coast, where they are preparing for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
He was a regular figure for Aduana Stars during the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season where made 30 appearances for the club.
