Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richmond Lamptey has returned to light training after picking up an injury in the team's CAF Champions League game against RC Kadiogo in Benin.
The 25-year-old midfielder had been off for almost a month missing out two games for Asante Kotoko in the return leg of the CAF Champions League and the Ghana Premier League opener against Nsoatreman FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The former West Africa Football Academy, WAFA, kingpin has returned to the training field at the club's Adako Jachie Training Grounds gaining match fitness ahead of the restart of the 2022/23 season which has been injuncted.
Richmond Lamptey survived the player ban by the Ghana Football Association over a match fixing allegations in Ashantigold SC vs Inter Allies game of the 2021/22 season at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Asante Kotoko resume competitive action in the Ghana Premier League against City rivals King Faisal FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium if the injunction is lifted on the 14th October, 2022 by the Human Rights Court in Accra.
He is expected to be fully fit before Asante Kotoko's next game.
