In a heartfelt announcement, Accra Hearts of Oak has revealed that Robert Addo Sowah, after a remarkable seven-year journey, is parting ways with the Phobians.

Joining the Accra club in 2016 from the then Pure Joy FC, now rechristened Uncle ‘T’ United, Sowah has etched his name in the history of the team with three major trophies, including a league title and two FA Cup accolades.

Though perhaps unfamiliar to a younger generation of fans, Sowah's contributions have made him one of the most reliable and underrated players in the Ghanaian Premier League.

Sowah's competitive debut on 9 June 2017, in a 4–0 victory over Bolga All Stars FC, showcased his potential as he impressed the Hearts faithful during a brief cameo appearance. Subsequently, he became an integral member of the Hearts side, demonstrating remarkable versatility by excelling in both left-back and centre-back roles, thanks to his exceptional game-reading abilities and precise ball distribution. Notably, his impressive record of avoiding injuries spoke volumes of his professionalism and dedication to the game.

A true team player, Sowah willingly embraced any challenge thrown his way, seamlessly transitioning into left-back, centre-back, and even defensive midfield roles whenever needed. His unyielding commitment and minimal fuss attitude won the hearts of fans and teammates alike. What truly set him apart was his consistent excellence in every position he played, leading many to consider him among the finest players to represent the Phobians in the last decade. Whenever he featured in midfield, Sowah displayed a masterful command of the game, dictating the tempo with ease and using his vast experience as a full-back to neutralize opposition attacks effectively.

As the news of his departure spreads, the Accra Hearts of Oak faithful acknowledge and appreciate the loyalty and dedication that Sowah has shown to the club over the years. Far too often, players are cherished only after they've moved on, but Sowah's contributions have already earned him a special place in the hearts of the fans.

While his star may be less celebrated than some of his more popular teammates, his legacy as a dependable and talented player will undoubtedly be remembered and missed for years to come.
