Hearts of Oak legend, Mohammed Ahmed Polo, has queried his former club on why they have turned a death ear and decided to keep head coach Aboubakar Ouattara heading into the new season.

The Ivorian gaffer took over in the middle of last season as replacement for Dutch coach Martin Koopman and couldn't make any significant changes having seen the club flirt around danger until they nipped on a final day win to narrowly survive relegation.

Having finished 15th in the Ghana Premier League last season with 45 points, Polo, who is rated in high esteem by the 'Phobians', strongly disagreed with his former club on the decision to keep Aboubakar Ouattara as he strongly believes the coach has nothing to offer the club.

"I don't understand why Hearts of Oak is still keeping Aboubakar Outarra as head coach," he told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

"Someone who nearly sent the team to relegation. I don't think he has anything good to offer Hearts of Oak," he added.

Recently, the team lost the maiden Democracy Cup title to eternal rivals Asante Kotoko but redeemed themselves over the weekend with a penalty shootouts victory over Kpando Heart of Lions to clinch the Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Cup.

The Rainbow Club will continue with their preseason at Kpobiman as they look to have themselves well prepared before the commencement of the 2024/25 football season.
