Asante Kotoko full back Samuel Appiah says he has yet to reach his potential in his first season for the club, but is promising he will get better.

The versatile Appiah moved to Kotoko at the beginning of the season from Medeama, but has found game time difficult to come by. However, on the few occasions that he featured for the club, he reminded all of his quality and, he is confident he can reach the heights many expected of him before his arrival in Kumasi.

In the Porcupine Warriors' 2-0 win over his former club at the Akoon Park on Sunday, Appiah again put up a splendid performance after coming on for Kotoko's Cameroonian import Franck Etouga Mbella.

"They haven't seen the best of me yet. I know I haven't been up to my full potential and I think maybe people can see that at the moment." He told kickgh.com

"I am trying hard. It's about getting used to everything. When you come to a big club like this it's never easy."

"I have learned a lot here. I wouldn't say I've been horrendous but I know I can do much better."

"I need to do better. I've come to Kotoko and I know what they need. I've been working hard and I am confident of becoming a mainstay in the team next season."
