Samuel Inkoom, the Hearts of Oak defender, delivered a passionate message to his teammates, urging them to give their utmost commitment when representing a club of such historical significance.
The Phobians have endured a disappointing campaign in the 2022/23 BetPawa Premier League season, finding themselves in a battle to avoid relegation after 33 rounds of matches. Currently, they occupy the 11th position on the league table following a 2-1 home defeat against Real Tamale United in their penultimate game in Accra.
Inkoom, who has faced limited playing time recently, shared his thoughts after the match. He emphasized the unique nature of playing for Hearts of Oak and the immense responsibility that accompanies it.
“This team is not an ordinary team, so if you are not ready don’t come. It’s for your career because if you joke, you can end your career playing for Hearts of Oak.
“I have played before and I even traveled so I know what they want and I know the meaning of the game. That’s why I said this team is a traditional team.” Samuel Inkoom said in a post-match interview after the RTU defeat.
Hearts of Oak's final match of the season will be an away game against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on Sunday, June 11th.
