The tough-minded guardsman has returned to the one-time FA Cup champions ahead of the 2023/24 season's campaign.

Ghana Premier League side Bechem United have announced the return of their centre-back Samuel Osei Kuffour after a loan spell with Portuguese outfit FC Felgueiras.

Osei Kuffour left the shores of Ghana last year to seal a season-long loan deal at the Portuguese third-tier league club after an explosive performance during the 2021/22 season.

He played an instrumental role in Bechem United's 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up finish in the MTN FA Cup and the Ghana Premier League before leaving for a loan spell in Portugal. He made 31 appearances with a goal to his credit.

Bechem United's management and coaching staff also expressed their delight at having the 21-year-old defender back in their squad for the upcoming season.

"Kuffour has shown tremendous growth during his loan spell, and we believe he will bring a fresh perspective and enhanced skills to our team. We warmly welcome him back and are excited to see him in action once again. With his return, we have enough experienced defenders such as Aaron Essel (Ghana U20, Ghana U23 & Black Galaxies), Joseph Kinful (Black Galaxies), Emmanuel Ababio and the general captain James Papa Yaw are more than capable to lead the defence and give a better performance in the upcoming season" said Mr. Kingsley Osei Bonsu, Chief Executive Officer.

Kuffour is expected to commence training with Bechem United later this week under their new coach Bismark Kobi-Mensah.
