Solomon Safo-Taylor, the forward for Asante Kotoko, has attributed their disappointing performance in the recently concluded 2022/23 Ghana Premier League to the low attendance of games by their fans.

The Porcupine Warriors were unable to defend their Premier League title and finished the season in 4th position with 52 points.

The club's fans expressed their dissatisfaction by noticeably reducing their presence even during home games. According to Safo-Taylor, this had a negative impact on the team's performance.

“They always say Kotoko some years back is better than Kotoko today but I don’t see it that way because when you look at Leicester City (in the English Premier League) when they were not winning, the fans were still at the stadium to support them. So, as players we give our best when the fans are in the stands,” he told Kessben Sports.

In twelve games for the Porcupines this season, Taylor netted three goals and registered two assists to help the Reds finish fourth on the log.
